Have you heard of Jolabokaflod, the Icelandic tradition that translates roughly to “Christmas book flood”? A friend shared a post about the idea on Facebook a few years and I jumped at it. The kids were getting older and a lot of our traditions, like making reindeer food, had fallen by the wayside. But this was something I knew they’d love.
I picked out books that I thought each of them would enjoy (including one for me!), bought some warm socks, wrapped everything up, and added a little chocolate. This is a tradition that I think will live on for years to come.
